But he put that slump to bed, comfortably seeing off the American in brutal style.
Having already dropped Fousey with a jab, Deji ended the fight in round three by rocking his opponent with a big left – prompting the towel to be thrown in.
Watching backstage was headline act and big brother KSI, who had already defeated rapper Swarmz in his first fight of the night.
The 29-year-old had tipped his little brother to lose before the fight, so might have been pleasantly surprised as he watched Deji dominate.

In backstage footage, KSI looked transfixed as he nervously watched the closing stages.
He muttered “you’ve got this” before going wild with joy as the fight was stopped.
KSI screamed “yes!” repeatedly while jumping in delight, also smacking his gloved fists together.

“Deji smashed it and I’m so proud of him – I’ve told him several times. I told him he had it in him.
“I told him he is up there with the best boxers in the YouTube scene and he showed it tonight. I am so proud.”

KSI opened and closed the pay-per-view show at The O2 Arena on Saturday night.
But the quality of opponent wasn’t on his level – even if Pineda is supposedly a professional boxer.
After the fight, KSI called out five boxers he’d be interested in fighting next.
KSI said: “Slim looks good. I want a piece of that. Austin vs Gib, I want the winner of that. Andrew Tate, I want a piece of that. Tommy Fury, I want a piece of that.”

He also revealed on the broadcast he’ll be back in action in January.
But Jake Paul’s name wasn’t one named by the London-born YouTuber.
Paul has been linked with a fight against KSI next year.
A war of words erupted between the pair when Jake hit out at the fight card for Saturday night.

KSI fought twice on the same night – opening the show against Swarmz before taking on Pineda in the main event.
Paul blasted on Twitter: “This can’t be real? Each ‘fight’ is 3 rounds? And he gets a 3hr break in between! Hahahahaha.
“It’s way easier than one 6 round fight. KSI & Minions Boxing doing the fans dirty with this fake s***. Mislead after mislead.”
And that sparked a huge Twitter feud, with KSI responding: “Was wondering when you were gonna pipe up. You must be so sad and bored on your a***, having no event happening.
“Still fighting a pro boxer before you, and you had 3 year head start. Plus how you gonna talk when you ain’t fought 2 people in one night?”
To which Paul replied: “You are fighting a nice young man from Mexico in a 3 round exhibition. Be real. No such thing as a 3 round pro fight.”
KSI then clapped back by insisting that at least he is fighting in 2022, with Jake inactive since December following his knockout win over Tyron Woodley.
Paul later messaged: “What you (sic) doing isn’t fighting. It’s an exhibition against a nice young man and your mate you make music with.”
In a follow-up tweet, Jake then said: “KSI will never fight me. That is obvious and I’m ok with it.
“He is trying to hype his exhibition fights.”

Again KSI was quick to comment, as he stated: “When you see me KO both of them, we’ll see if it isn’t ‘fighting’.

KSI does press-ups against pro-boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda as he mocks awful opponent who spent whole fight whining

KSI brutally mocked his so-called professional boxing opponent Luis Alcaraz Pineda by doing press-ups during their fight. The influencer-turned musician and fighter made up for lost time after three years out by facing TWO opponents in one night.

Firstly, he beat rapper Swarmz in two rounds and then later Mexican professional boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda in three.
KSI, 29, dropped Pineda, 23, in every round while the journeyman bizarrely complained about non-existent punches to the back of the head.
In the final stages, he dropped Pineda with a right hand and then later an uppercut – by which point the ref had seen enough.

As the official was counting, KSI began doing press-ups and continued on after the fight was officially finished.
The Londoner did the same thing during his fight against Swarmz, which he won with almost as much ease.
KSI told his fans: “Ladies and gentleman, are you not entertained?
“It’s good to be back, two fights in one night, two KOs, yeah buddy. I said it. I talk the talk and I walk the walk.”
Unlike Pineda, Swarmz did go out swinging – quite literally – throwing wild haymaker right hands from all sorts of angles.

He did only have a fortnight to prepare for the bout, while also needing to lose almost two stone after replacing Alex Wassabi, 31.
And his inexperience showed, having been left off balance, spinning around in a fashion which drew parallels to a teacup ride.
Somehow, by virtue of running around the ring, three minutes proved enough time for Swarmz to survive despite being floored.
But KSI wasted no time in putting Swarmz out of his misery in round two after a body shot and left hook signalled the end of the fight.

He tweeted: “Smart man KSI is not calling me out. He knows the truth.”
The 25-year-old continued his social media spree by retweeting a post from pro boxer Amanda Serrano, saying KSI is in for a “bad night” if he ever fought Paul.
Paul then turned his attention to revealing he is set to return to the ring later this year and his next opponent will announced in the coming days.

He confirmed: “Just got the call. Massive opponent announcement this week. October.”
Paul had been due to fight Hasim Rahman Jr at Madison Square Garden earlier this month but the fight was canned due to a weight dispute.
While his next opponent remains a mystery, his own promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, claimed Paul will be going into the fight as the “underdog”.
A tweet read: “Next week we will announce JAKE PAUL’s next opponent. @jakepaul will almost certainly be the underdog. He knows that and he wants that.”
KSI meanwhile confirmed after knocking out Pineda that he will return to the ring in January.
Fellow Brit boxer Tommy Fury and kickboxing star Andrew Tate being just two of the names he called out in his victory speech.
Fury himself ridiculed KSI following his win over Swarmz, writing on Twitter: “What have I just seen.”
He then reacted to KSI’s second win by tweeting: “You know where to find me.” More

Hasim Rahman Jr teams up with Jake Paul’s rival KSI after fight axe to headline YouTuber’s show against Vitor Belfort

HASIM RAHMAN JR has teamed up with Jake Paul’s rival KSI to headline one of the YouTuber’s cards against Vitor Belfort. The American signed to face Paul on August 6 but a weight disagreement between the two saw the bout collapse.

So instead, Rahman will return on October 15 in Sheffield against ex-UFC champion Vitor Belfort.
The fight will headline a MisFits boxing card – KSI’s promotional banner – on DAZN pay-per-view.
Rahman, 31, has not fought since April, when he lost to McKenzie Morrison, 32, the son to ex-heavyweight champion Tommy.
Meanwhile Belfort, 44, is a former UFC champion but has not returned to MMA since 2018.

But the Brazilian in September 2021 beat up boxing icon Evander Holyfield, 59, in a shameful exhibition bout.
Rahman signed to fight Paul initially at the 200lb cruiserweight limit, meaning he had to shed TWO STONE.
But the New York State Athletic Commission later changed the weight to 205lb.
Paul claimed Rahman refused to come any lower than 215lb, although that accusation was refuted.

And the son of heavyweight legend Hasim Sr even weighed in at 206.6lb despite the fight cancelation in a bid to prove he could make the weight.
Paul has instead signed his next fight for October with an opponent yet to be announced.

And Fousey was also a 0-1 winless fighter, meaning both were desperate to taste victory for the first time.
But the American was simply no match for southpaw Deji, who dominated from the first round onwards.
Deji, 25, said: “I have the best team ever. I have Daley, the best boxing coach ever, ever.
“I have Leon, the best PT in the game and I have everyone out there showing their love. And that brought me out.”

Deji came out rapidly, swarming Fousey from the first bell and landed a big right hook.
The pressure continued into the second, and Deji scored several lead right hooks and straight left.
He even dropped Fousey, 32, with a jab and the writing looked on the walls.
