The American was twice set to fight Tommy Fury, 23, until the Brit pulled out after suffering an injured rib and then over US visa issues.
Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, had signed to replace Fury but a weight disagreement with Paul saw their bout cancelled.
Paul last fought in December, knocking out Fury’s substitute Tyron Woodley, 40, who he had already beat on points four months earlier.
That added to KOs over online rival “AnEsonGib”, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 38, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 38.

Tommy Fury ‘desperate’ to secure fight with Jake Paul or KSI and ‘NOT motivated by winning titles’, says Tony Bellew

TONY BELLEW said Tommy Fury is “desperate” to secure a fight with Jake Paul or KSI and “not motivated by winning titles”. The 2019 Love Islander has twice signed to fight Paul but was withdrawn both times.

Tony Bellew said Tommy Fury is ‘not motivated by winning titles’
And he recently accepted a callout from YouTuber KSI, who won TWICE in one night.
Fury’s decision to engage in the all-celebrity bouts caused ex-world champion Bellew to change his opinion on the brother of Tyson.
He told DAZN: “At the start of his career, I was led to believe that Tommy was a serious prospect who had big aspirations to go far in the sport.
“After watching his first few fights and seeing how desperate he is to secure a fight with these YouTube guys, it’s clear to me that he’s not motivated by winning titles.

“It’s all about cashing out with fights against the likes of KSI and Jake Paul.”
Fury, 23, was due to face Paul, 25, in December but pulled out after suffering a rib injury in training.
And when they tried to reschedule for August, this time he ran into US visa issues.
KSI, who himself is eyeing a grudge match with Paul, returned after three years out of the ring.

And he made up for lost time by beating rapper Swarmz, 25, and the start of the night and so-called boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda, 23, at the end.
KSI, 29, wants his second comeback fight in January and called Fury out for it.
And Bellew, 39, reckons the 8-0 light-heavyweight is better off chasing influencer bouts opposed to making a go in the traditional ranks.
He said: “To be fair to Tommy, it’s probably the best move considering his ability.
“I’ll go on record and say that I don’t think he has what it takes to win a British title.
“It’s stacked domestically at light heavyweight, and you’ve got to go a long way down the rankings before you could find a boxer who you’d fancy Tommy to have success against.
“His current direction is probably best for business.”

Oleksandr Usyk ready to join Anthony Joshua’s camp for sparring and reveals what he told Brit in ring after rematch

OLEKSANDR USYK said he urged Anthony Joshua to “ease up” after their rematch – before offering to join his camp for sparring. Joshua was left fuming in the ring after losing to Usyk for the second time in the space of a year.

He threw two of the champion’s belts out of the ring before going on a bizarre post-fight speech, which AJ later apologised for.
It overshadowed Usyk’s heroic performance and the unbeaten Ukrainian was visibly confused by the outburst.
He tried and failed in his approach to speak with Joshua – but is still happy to help out his old rival in training.
Usyk said: “I wanted to talk to him, I said, ‘Ease up, man, let’s just calm down. When I have time I could come to see you in the UK, come to your gym and we could spar together and stuff.'”

The pound-for-pound star is now set to fight Tyson Fury, 34, in the heavyweight division’s first ever four-belt heavyweight unification.
Meanwhile Joshua, 32, faces a rebuilding job both in and out of the ring, having lost both the rematch and his cool.
But as Usyk returned to his war-torn home for the first time in months, he publicly defended AJ and his emotional meltdown.
He said: “I don’t have any rancour towards him and I want to tell people that they shouldn’t hold it against him – he didn’t do anything bad.

“Emotions took over him. Don’t judge him for that. Instead, he needs support and reassurance.”
Fury wants the historic undisputed decider in December but Usyk has ruled himself out until next year to rest and recover with his loved ones.
Joshua is expected to return in either December or January with his future in the sport still bright.
Usyk added: “Okay, he has lost, so what? It’s not lethal. It’s just a small respite to do some homework.”

But for now, the Hall of Famer goes back to Japan – where he beat Nasukawa in one round – to face Asakura.
The bout is only set for three rounds, promoted by RIZIN, and Mayweather is not in the mood to exert himself too much.

Usyk himself was present on the frontline to fight against Russia’s invasion of the country, and was pictured holding a machine gun, before he was told to leave to prepare for the rematch.
Following the fight, Usyk told Parimatch: “In the ninth round, I felt a lot of pressure.
“But I understood it was not as hard for me as for some guys on the frontline.
“After round nine, I said to my coach, ‘should I start?’ (to fight harder) and he said ‘go ahead.'”

Usyk won the rematch with Joshua via a controversial split decision.
However, despite Usyk’s victory, the fight was overshadowed by an emotional outburst from Joshua.

He apologised for his actions the day after the fight.

Usyk has been tipped to land a bumper deal to fight Tyson Fury and unify the heavyweight division.
He has also said he would be open to ANOTHER fight with Joshua to complete a trilogy.
But Usyk warned Joshua would need to ditch the “freeloaders” in his camp if he were to emerge victorious and “grow” as a person. More

And afterwards, he called out ex-Love Islander Fury, who accepted.
Hearn admitted the all-celebrity bout is due to bring in eyeballs but warned not to expect an exhibition of boxing skills.
He told DAZN: “It’s still a huge fight those two.
“And it would be competitive, because I’ve said before, and I don’t mean it disrespectfully, neither of them are very good.

“They’re not seasoned or skilled fighters, that doesn’t mean it can’t be entertaining.

KSI is eyeing a blockbuster grudge match against Paul’s brother Jake, 25, who is 5-0 in his own career.
Fury twice signed to fight the American but was withdrawn on both occasions.
Firstly, in December he suffered an injured rib and was then forced out of the rescheduled bout in August amid a US visa issue.
Jake is now set to return in October against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 48, who has a 4-1 boxing record.
But afterwards, the YouTuber-turned prizefighter is eyeing a fight with KSI next year, which Hearn backs him to win.
He said: “Jake Paul is fighting levels above what we saw on Saturday and I think Jake Paul beats KSI.
“But KSI looked better, although he was up against nothing. I think I’ll give him credit for looking a bit better than I thought he might.”

Canelo Alvarez urged to fight Anthony Joshua despite FIVE STONE difference after Mexican called out Oleksandr Usyk

CANELO ALVAREZ has been told to forget about fighting Oleksandr Usyk… and focus on Anthony Joshua instead. Before the Mexican lost to Dmitry Bivol in May, he opened the door to a sensational catchweight clash with Usyk.

And despite the defeat and sizeable weight disadvantage, Canelo recently insisted he is still up for facing the heavyweight champion.
But Bivol has warned his counterpart against it and said he would be better off fighting AJ instead.
The Russian told iFL TV: “Canelo-Usyk? I think a better fight is Canelo [against] Joshua. It will be better, much more.”
Joshua, 32, weighed in at 17st 4lb before losing to Usyk, 35, in their rematch, having been beaten initially last September.

Whereas Canelo, 32, last boxed at the 12st 7lb light-heavyweight limit in defeat to Bivol, 31.
But he goes back down to 12st to defend his undisputed super-middleweight crown against Gennady Golovkin, 40, on September 17.
That means he would be giving away over FIVE STONE if he was to face Joshua.
And even Usyk at 15st 11lb would have almost four stone over Canelo.

But it will not him put off challenging his fellow pound-for-pound star.
Asked about fighting Usyk, Canelo said: “It’s difficult, but I don’t care. I like that kind of challenge.
“It’s gonna be difficult, I know, but I love boxing. I love being in that kind of situation.”

Twice Joshua, 32, was bettered on points by Oleksandr Usyk, 35, most recently in Saudi Arabia.
Whereas Whyte, 34, is yet to return since a knockout loss to Tyson Fury, 34, in April when making his first world title challenge.
Separate comeback fights are expected to follow for the beaten duo before setting up a blockbuster rematch in the summer.
Promoter Eddie Hearn told The Metro: “For sure, it is a fight we all want.

“The two biggest fights out there away from the world title fight are the Dillian Whyte fight which must happen.
“It is a huge stadium fight next summer. The other is the Deontay Wilder fight which is arguably the biggest fight in boxing – even bigger than Fury vs Usyk, in all honesty.
“Two big fights and whoever has the belts at the end of the summer, we will also be targeting.”
Wilder, 36, returns to the ring on October 15 against ex-sparring partner Robert Helenius, 38.

It will be his first fight since losing to Fury in their October 2021 trilogy bout classic.
Both Hearn and Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel have opened the door to a super-fight between the American and Joshua.
But opposing promotional and TV networks make negotiations harder, as was the case in the past, so talks with Whyte are easier.
Hearn admitted: “The Dillian Whyte fight is definitely easier to make than the Wilder fight.
“But they are, as always, going to be wanted to be paid as much money as possible.
“But I think it is quite easy for me to make that fight. AJ wants that fight, Dillian wants that fight and that’s a fight we will definitely see next summer.”
Joshua’s history with Whyte dates back to their amateur days in 2009, when he lost on points.
But AJ gained revenge in the professional ranks six years later with a brutal uppercut KO.
