Man Utd in new Erling Haaland transfer hope as ‘Woodward and Raiola rekindle relationship after rift’

MANCHESTER UNITED have been given renewed hope in their quest to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the next transfer window.

The 19-year-old has been a revelation since joining the Bundesliga side from Red Bull Salzburg in January, scoring nine goals in eight league games.

The Red Devils were understood to be keen on bringing the player to Old Trafford in the winter market, but were unable to sign him due to the club’s poor relationship with his agent Mino Raiola.

It was recently reported by the Daily Mirror how United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had held talks with Raiola in an effort to improve relations.

This meeting was believed to be about Paul Pogba, with Raiola previously speaking about how the French World Cup winner needs to find a new club, while also vowing he would never bring a client to United again.

Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that the Red Devils remain interested in Haaland.

And with talks between the player’s representative and Woodward said to be positive, the Premier League side have hope that a deal could be struck.

The report also adds how Jose Mourinho is looking to lure the centre-forward to join Tottenham.

And Tuttomercatoweb state that could mean Spurs are looking for a replacement for Juventus target Harry Kane.

United are also believed to be competing with LaLiga giants Real Madrid for the signature of Haaland.

Haaland has a release clause of £63million, but Raiola believes his future is at Dortmund for now, as he said: “He’ll be at Dortmund for as long as he needs to be.

“It’s true that he is a footballer who is anticipating the stages of growth faster than you might think.

“I don’t think that when he left Salzburg it was the right time, but… I don’t think he’ll be leaving Dortmund this summer.”
