CESC FABREGAS hit back at a troll on Twitter to set the record straight and deny that he patted the Chelsea badge in front of Arsenal fans.
The Spaniard became the youngest Gunners captain before he returned to Barcelona in 2011.
Fabregas left Arsenal in 2011 for Barcelona but joined London rivals Chelsea in 2014
But Chelsea brought the creative midfielder back to London in 2014 with Fabregas going on to win the Premier League in his debut season at Stamford Bridge.
The 32-year-old – who now plays for Monaco – still continues to comment on both Chelsea and Arsenal’s progression online and will go on a Gunners fan podcast next week to reveal all about his time with the club.
But one critic online accused the World Cup winner of patting the Blues badge at the Emirates after Chelsea had beaten their rivals 1-0 in 2016.
However, Fabregas denied he was goading Gunners fans and insisted he was in fact pointing to his chest to tell supporters he will always have the club in his heart.
He said: “If you think I’m capable of doing what you are suggesting I did, you don’t know me at all and my feelings towards all of you what so ever.
“I was actually telling the fans they will always be in my heart, but of course your interpretation must be miss guided by a simple image.”
Fabregas left Chelsea last year after five years at the club, since making 37 appearances for Monaco.
But amid the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, which has claimed over 13,500 lives worldwide, France is currently on lockdown with clubs having not played for two weeks.
Fabregas, who is in self isolation, said: “We have to look at the positives of this quarantine and being able to spend so much time with my family it’s definitely one of them for me.
“Be safe, be responsible, stay home.”
