He was spotted on CCTV at 6:15am – and left his hotel without his phone, wallet and passport.

And Dutch officers have launched a frantic hunt to find the missing young man.

Worried loved ones in Scotland have been sharing desperate appeals – and Celtic have issued one of their own.

They wrote on Twitter: “#CelticFC Great, Billy McNeill’s Grandson, Matthew McCombe, 21, is currently missing in Amsterdam.

“He has short dark blonde hair and a slim build.

“Have you seen Matthew? Please share this, it may reach someone who has.”

The Scottish giants added another tweet which read: “He was last seen on the 14th March between 6:40am and 7:30am in the vicinity of the Amstel train station, and was wearing a light blue Stone Island jumper, blue jeans and blue shoes.”

Mum Paula shared a social media appeal from cops which read: “On behalf of the family of Matthew McCombe, we ask all companies, bars, restaurants and individuals around the Amsteldijk in Amsterdam with CCTV movies and cameras to store all the images.

“Matthew was last seen in the area of Amsteldijk on Saturday, March 14, 2020 around 6:30am.”

And Matthew’s cousin Gerard Williamson said: “Our little cousin Matthew is missing in Amsterdam walking out of Novotel 6:15am if anyone has seen him or has any information please contact me.”
