VIRGIN’S Formula E title sponsors Envision are helping the battle against coronavirus by producing and donating 100,000 face masks per day.

All the masks produced are being donated to businesses, schools and communities in China which have been hit hardest by the virus.

Masks are also being sent to Japan, South Korea and other locations to help fight the spread of Covid-19.

The energy company has already donated over £5.6million to help support and provide aid to people affected by the pandemic.

Team Owner of the Envision Virgin FE team Lei Zhang said: “Envision’s employees have overcome enormous difficulties to enable production to begin as scheduled at the new mask factory.

“All masks produced at the facility will be donated to help accelerate the resumption of work and life.

“We aim to do more than just deliver masks. We aim to deliver hope and help people smile once again.”

Formula E took the decision to temporarily suspend the current season on March 13.

This decision came after the all-electric series had already pulled the plug on races in Italy and Jakarta.

Founder and chairman of FE Alejandro Agag, said: “Motorsport plays a major part in our lives and it is important, but what is more important is
the health and safety of our staff, fans and their families, as well as citizens in the cities we race.

“The ABB Formula E Championship will be back in full force, once the ongoing health crisis and spread of COVID-19 has subsided.”
