MAURICIO POCHETTINO has revealed his desire to manage Lionel Messi at some point – but preferably back in their homeland at Newell’s Old Boys.
The Argentinian duo have both enjoyed huge success away from their native South America, but they still keep their roots close to their hearts.

Barcelona superstar Messi, 32, has regularly expressed his wish to play for his boyhood club before retirement.
Now Poch, who remains out of work since being axed and replaced by Jose Mourinho at Tottenham in November, has his eyes on a link-up with the forward.
Speaking to Radio del Plata, the 48-year-old said: “I want to return to Newell’s with Messi.
“I can still wait, [for an opportunity] and the best [possible scenario] would be in 10 years with Messi.”
Pochettino started his career with Newell’s in Rosario, then went on to a seven-year spell in Spain with Espanyol.
Messi came through the academy of the club before moving to Barcelona’s La Masia in 2001.
He is expected to lead his nation in their next World Cup qualifying campaign.
And his elder countryman is hoping the forward can finally bring success back to the nation after enjoying a trophy-laden time at the Nou Camp at club level.
Pochettino added: “I hope he arrives at a great moment.
“His presence will be a recognition of the generation that deserved something more.
“Argentina is going to arrive well [equipped] to fight for the World Cup.”
Messi still has not tasted glory for his country, losing the 2014 World Cup final and suffering defeat in three Copa Americas.
