Tottenham and West Ham face race to complete home games with Anthony Joshua fight and gigs booked into stadiums

TOTTENHAM and West Ham are under increasing pressure to complete their remaining home games so their stadiums can be used for extra events booked in.

Spurs are set to host Anthony Joshua’s fight against Kubrat Pulev on June 20 but fixtures could be played up until then with the Premier League suspending all matches until April 4 at the earliest.

Coronavirus continues to disrupt the sporting calendar with emergency meetings planned over the coming days to discuss the next steps.

The Premier League and EFL have suspended all matches, England have cancelled their cricket tour of Sri Lanka and F1 bosses have postponed the Australian Grand Prix as countries battle to contain the outbreak of the virus.

West Ham’s London stadium are hosting Major League Baseball, who are scheduled to move in on the June 13.

The Hammers are also set to host a rock concert Friday, June 26 before the Muller Anniversary Games take place between July 4-5.

Both West Ham and Spurs take precedent over other events and Guns N’ Roses have two concert dates on May 29 and 30 at Tottenham’s ground.

The Capital Summertime Ball is scheduled for June 6 but it is uncertain what the Premier League plans to do with the remaining fixtures.

A delay to fixtures could result in a shortened pre-season for clubs if next season begins on time.

German side Borussia Dortmund have already cancelled their pre-season tour of Asia.

Juventus are in a coronavirus crisis after 121 players and staff members were placed into self-isolation.

Daniele Rugani was confirmed as the first player in Serie A to have the deadly bug.

At least two club bosses want the campaign declared null and void, which would deny Liverpool a first title win since 1990.

League chiefs are determined to resume playing when possible and continue to complete the season.

But a growing number of clubs believe that there is little or no prospect of football returning for months, leaving the only option of scrapping this season and beginning again in August.
