THE BUNDESLIGA season could be scrapped next week due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak after the first footballer in Germany was diagnosed with the virus.
German second division side Hannover confirmed on Wednesday that defender Timo Hubers, 23, is in quarantine at home after testing positive for the deadly bug.

According to Bild, as per AS, the German Football Federation (DFB) are now holding an emergency meeting between all Bundesliga clubs to discuss plans moving forwards.
It is claimed that the governing body are set to discuss the possibility of suspending the season, but are also prepared to call it off entirely.
Potentially postponing the rest of the remaining games has already been ruled out due to the hectic international schedule this summer.
In the meantime, the Bundesliga have confirmed that this weekend’s fixtures will be played behind closed doors.
Bayern Munich are currently top of the table as they look to defend their title, with rivals Borussia Dortmund only four points behind.
