Jinjiang Beach Volleyball World Tour 3-star event cancelled

Lausanne, Switzerland, March 10, 2020 – Following the careful evaluation of the current situation regarding the global coronavirus outbreak, and following the request received from the China Volleyball Association and relevant authorities, a joint decision has been made to cancel the 3-star Beach Volleyball World Tour event, which was scheduled for 13-17 May in Jinjiang, China.

The cancellation of the event is a preventative measure to protect the health and wellbeing of our athletes, fans and officials, which is the FIVB’s top priority.

The FIVB expresses its deepest sympathies to those affected by the outbreak and stands in solidarity with the entire global volleyball community. The FIVB continues to monitor this fast-moving global situation very closely on an hour-by-hour basis, and remains in regular consultation with national as well as global authorities, including the International Olympic Committee and the World Health Organisation, to determine any potential impact on upcoming FIVB events.
