Gary Neville enjoys Liverpool ‘bottling it’ against Watford as jubilant Arsenal fans celebrate Invincibles tag

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville was revelling in Liverpool’s shock defeat that saw them lose their unbeaten tag.

Relegation-threatened Watford stunned the league leaders with a 3-0 victory as the Reds failed to match Arsenal’s Invincibles record.

Jurgen Klopp’s high-flyers went had gone 44 games across two seasons without defeat until Ismaila Sarr and Troy Deeney put them to the sword at Vicarage Road.

Gunners fans across the country were in celebration as they maintained the crown of being the only team to go a whole campaign unbeaten during the 2003-04 season.

But no one appeared to enjoy it as much as Neville who even celebrated by cracking up a bottle of bubbly.

He initially tweeted: “Just got to London and they’re bottling it again!”

And moments after the full-time whistle Neville uploaded a video of himself popping the cork on a bottle of champagne.

Even Arsenal’s official account couldn’t resist staying quiet as they simply commented: “Phew.”

They then added another subtle dig by writing: “Congratulations on a formidable unbeaten run, @LFC.”

Gary Lineker joked: “Definitely Arsenal’s best result of the season.”

Arsenal fans were quick to jump bandwagon with some reminding Liverpool they failed to match their 49-game unbeaten run.

Piers Morgan gloated: “Liverpool just got destroyed 3-0 by Watford. This humiliation alone means they don’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the unbeatable Arsenal Invincibles.”

One said: “This is my club. The greatest team in the history of the Premier League.”

Another added: “The legacy stays on.”

A third said: “Statue for Sarr and Deeney now.”

Others mocked Liverpool with memes and pictures of former boss Arsene Wenger with a huge grin across his face.

Watford fans couldn’t resist getting in on the action by singing: “Can we play you every week?”
