West Ham have transfer enquiry for ex-Man City striker Felipe Caicedo rejected by Lazio

WEST HAM’S enquiry to land Lazio striker Felipe Caicedo in the summer has been rejected, according to reports.

Despite the threat of relegation, Hammers bosses are keen to outline their plans for the end of the campaign with a striker the main priority.

Sebastien Haller, a £45million club-record signing, is West Ham’s top scorer this season with just six goals.

Boss David Moyes believes Caicedo could be the man to solve their striker issues having played second fiddle for the majority of the campaign.

But Calcio Mercato write that the Serie A high flyers have issued a hands-off warning, informing them he is not for sale.

Premier League fans may remember Caicedo from his time at Manchester City where he made 34 appearances across a three-year stint between 2008 and 2011.

That included three loan spells to Sporting, Malaga and Levante before finally settling at Lokomotiv Moscow.

This season he has scored eight league goals in 11 starts and has a contract at the club until the summer of 2022.

Lazio are exceeding expectations this season as they sit just a point behind Juventus at the top of Serie A.

West Ham meanwhile are locked in a relegation dogfight as they sit one point adrift of safety.
