FIVB Beach Volleyball event in Iran postponed

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 24, 2020 – Following the request of the Volleyball Federation of Iran and the relevant authorities there, a joint decision has been made to postpone the FIVB Beach Volleyball 3-star event scheduled for 3-7 March in Bandar Abbas, Iran, due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The safety and wellbeing of athletes, fans and officials is our number one priority and so it was mutually decided that postponing the event was in the best interests of all parties. The FIVB expects to reschedule the event and further information will be provided at a later date.

The FIVB expresses its deepest sympathy and solidarity to those affected by the outbreak, and we will continue to carefully monitor the situation in full cooperation with the World Health Organisation.
