Shkodran Mustafi shocks with drastic new silver hairdo in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Everton

The German defender was almost unrecognisable as he debuted his new silver barnet at the Emirates on Sunday.

But fans quickly realised who he was… as the Gunners shipped two soft goals in the 3-2 win over Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Mustafi’s new ‘do did not go down well with team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who shared it with the world on his Instagram story.

Tagging the World Cup winner and defensive partner David Luiz, he captioned the video: “New Trimmz. Call Them The Hair Defenders.”

Mustafi has started the last seven games under Mikel Arteta, after being frozen out by former coach Unai Emery at the start of the season.

Together with mop-topped Luiz, he had helped Arsenal keep clean sheets in their last three outings, including Thursday’s 1-0 Europa League win at Olympiacos.

However, neither could stop Dominic Calvert-Lewin from giving Everton a shock lead inside the first minute on Sunday.

The Gunners then conceded a comical second as Richarlison poked under Bernd Leno from Yerry Mina’s uncontested knockdown.

Fortunately they were saved as Eddie Nketiah’s first-half reply and a fine double from Aubameyang earned three crucial points in Arsenal’s unlikely Champions League pursuit.

Arteta’s side remain the only unbeaten team in Europe’s top five leagues in 2020 and are now just seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
