Wilder was treated for a bleeding ear as early as the fourth round
Trainers in Wilder’s corner tended to blood running out of his ear with the issue appearing to get worse as the match wore on.
As Fury took control of the championship bout, the American appeared increasingly jittery and hit the deck a number of times, often simply as he lost balance.
Not only was he contending with the worrying ear bleed, Wilder’s lip was also split early on.
His behaviour left fans worried that the defending champion was battling on while concussed.

Twitter user Robert commented: “Wilder could be concussed. He doesn’t look right.”
Another added: “Wilder is basically asleep in his corner. He got concussed in like the second round.”
And Alex wrote online: “Dawg Wilder is a DAWG. This man is 100% fighting concussed. Blood coming out of his ear. His equilibrium is all off. How is he still standing?”
NFL legend Shannon Sharpe stepped in to add: “Wilder ear drum is busted and his equilibrium is off. Fury is dominating this fight. Don’t see how Wilder finishes this fight on his feet.”
One viewer surmised: “Busted ear drum, no equilibrium, likely concussed; hate to say Wilder is donezo. Corner or ref gonna end this unless Wilder lands a miracle.”
Indeed, amid a sense that Wilder’s corner was ready to throw in the towel amid their own concerns, they stopped the fight in round seven.
And the defeated champion fumed at his camp as the referee waved off the affair.
