West Ham leading Brighton and Spurs in £20m transfer battle for Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy

West Ham are leading the race for French striker Serhou Guirassy – and can seal the £20 million deal soon.

Hammers have been tracking the Amiens forward for months and now his club are willing to trade and strike an agreement shortly.

Amiens fear they will be relegated and are willing to sort out a fee for the summer window, tie up the move and make their own planning for the future.

Officials from the French club were in London last week for meetings and hope to finalise the switch as soon as possible.

Brighton have also been watching Guirassy and saw him score two and make a couple more in their draw with PSG last weekend.

Spurs were also at the game as they look for long time cover for Harry Kane. However Guirassy would prefer to be a starter when he comes to the Premier League.

Guirassy would have a real chance of getting in the side ahead of Sebastian Haller next season and that may be the deciding factor.

Meanwhile West Ham are checking on Gillingham’s classy young centre half John Tucker.

Hammers spies are raving about Tucker, 20, who is a big part of the Kent side’s recent storming run.

Gillingham slapped Tucker on a new deal recently but would still be open for a sale if the right offer comes in at the end of the season.

Tucker has also been tracked by Aston Villa this season and is tipped for an England under-21 call up.

West Ham turn their attention to the daunting task of facing Liverpool at Anfield on Monday as they fight to save their Premier League status.

After Aston Villa and Bournemouth both lost yesterday, David Moyes and his side are still only one point from safety.

Moyes was heavily criticised for his team selection during their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday so changes are expected for the match against the unbeaten leaders.

Sam Allardyce says West Ham will stay up but only if fans stand by them
