CELTIC fans were told by Danish police ‘it’s been great having you gays in town’ in deleted tweet after Europa League clash.
The Hoops were in Denmark for the round of 32 first-leg match against Copenhagen as they secured a score draw on their travels.

And after the match the Copenhagen police force took to Twitter to thank Celtic fans for their behaviour during the away day.
But in a deleted post the foreign police force made an awkward spelling mistake as they called the Hoops travelling support ‘gays’.
The original post, which included the innocent mistake, was quickly removed from social media with an amended tweet posted with the corrected words.
The first post read: “The match is over 1-1.
The innocent mistake was posted to the official police force account
“We want ti thank the @CelticFC – it’s been great having you gays in town – no registered problems during the the night so far.
“We wish you a safe journey back to Scotland.”
But the reworded tweet six minutes later read: “We want to thank the fans of @CelticFC – it’s been great having you guys in town – no registered problems during the night.
“We wish you a safe journey back to Scotland.”
A spokesperson for Copenhagen Police said: “Copenhagen Police wanted to thank the Celtic fans for being such great guests in our city.
“In our excitement we sent out the tweet a bit too fast – with typos.
“One of which quite altered the meaning of a word. We quickly corrected this, but of course the lovely people on Twitter had already saved the first tweet for posterity, which has sparked many a laugh both online and here.
“We do want to send a huge thank you to the Celtic fans for being great guests and for the many, many nice things you have said about us online. We look forward to next time you visit us.”
The Hoops went ahead in the match thanks to a delightful dink from electric striker Odsonne Eoduard in the first half.
But they had to settle for taking a 1-1 draw back to Parkhead for the second leg as Dame N’Doye levelled the scores after 52 minutes.
Fraser Forster also made a huge stop for the Hoops as he denied Jens Stage from the penalty spot with an excellent save.
