And that lack of quality at the heart of R’s defence has seen them plummet down the table after an encouraging start to the campaign.

Milosovic, 27, has been looking for a club since he left Nottingham Forest by mutual consent because of his lack of game time.

‘Milo’, available on a free, wants to remain in England after leaving the County Ground so he can prove his fitness and form ahead of the Euros.

Agent Barry O’Connor revealed: “There is plenty of interest in Alexander, It’s now into double figures. Quality will always attract interest.”

Milosovic, once a target for Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool, only managed twelve games for Forest before leaving in October.

Fellow Championship outfit Rangers have slid to 17th in the table following a run of only one win in their last five league games.

That was against promotion chasers Leeds back in January, with Nahki Wells scoring one of his last for the club before a switch to Bristol City.
