Lewis Hamilton shows off dramatic new ‘caveman’ hairstyle in topless picture ahead of showdown talks with Mercedes

LEWIS HAMILTON has undergone a dramatic transformation by ditching his trademark cornrows for a scruffier style.

But Toto Wolff remains confident that the British driver won’t get rid of Mercedes as well for a sensational switch to Ferrari.

Hamilton, who will begin fine-tuning his car ahead of the new season in Barcelona later this month, stunned fans by showing off his new curly-haired look.

The 35-year-old shared images of himself posing topless on Instagram with the new look, captioning one of the snaps: “caveman ting.”

Hamilton’s dramatic transformation comes ahead of his appearance at the Spanish Grand Prix 2020, with his future beyond this season still undecided.

The world champion’s £40million-a-year terms expire in December, and he has been linked with a switch to Ferrari.

The obvious pairing going forward

In November, Hamilton said that he was eager to get his future resolved over the winter so he could concentrate on winning a record-equalling seventh world crown.

But the Brit star revealed he has not even started negotiations with his Mercedes team over a new contract last month.

Despite this, Toto Wolff has claimed that remaining with Merc is the “obvious pairing going forward”.

Speaking at the 2020 Mercedes livery launch yesterday, he said: “I think it is the obvious pairing going forward.

“We would like to have the fastest man in the car and I know that Lewis wants to be in the fastest car so there is an obvious mutual outcome.

“The last conversation I had with him was on the evening before the Christmas party where we had a nice chat and said we would start our discussion once he comes back from America and we have properly kicked off the season.

“I have great belief in the abilities of the team to attract the best drivers.

“At the moment, Lewis has proven that he is the best current driver with his six titles and long-term I hope we are able to continue providing our technology to the best driver and attract them.”
