MANCHESTER CITY’S miserable run of missed penalties carried on after Hugo Lloris saved from the spot against Ilkay Gundogan.
City were awarded a penalty after some farcical scenes at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium as Serge Aurier brought down Sergio Aguero.

But referee Mike Dean waved play off before it took TWO MINUTES for VAR to rule that Aguero had been fouled in the box.
It gave Gundogan the chance to put the league champions in the lead – but Lloris had other plans as he dived correctly down to his left.
City have now missed four of their last six attempts from 12 yards with Gabriel Jesus missing twice as well as Raheem Sterling and Gundogan.
The visitor’s might have thought they would get a second go from the spot after Sterling latched onto Lloris’ save.
The England forward went down as Spurs’ stopper attempted to recover the ball.
But again Dean waved off penalty protests and this time VAR agreed.
After Jesus missed from the spot against Sheffield United – with United loanee Dean Henderson saving the Brazilian’s effort – Pep Guardiola revealed keeper Ederson is Cuty’s best penalty taker.
Guardiola said: “Ederson is the best. Believe me, Eddie is the best taker we have on the penalties.
“He has no blood in his brains, he’s so calm, so he could do it.”
Sterling twice missed against Wolves from the spot after his first attempt had to be retaken, though the winger failed to capitalise on the second opportunity.
City boss Guardiola admitted he was forced to reflect on who will be his trusted taker from the spot after so many failed attempts.
He said: “I have to reflect on it. I always have the confidence in the players to take it, but I have to reflect on maybe how they take the decision on who will take it.
“Not [just] for Gabriel today, because Sergio missed two and Raheem missed one and a half against Wolves.
“We are not safe. In that level it’s so important, it makes the difference most of the time.
“I have to take a decision with the guys over who is going to take the penalty.”
