Barcelona stars left ‘confused and disorganised’ by Quique Setien’s instructions with claims of player revolt

BARCELONA’S star players have been left confused and disorganised by new manager Quique Setien, according to reports.

The Spaniard took the reins at the Nou Camp a fortnight ago but has reportedly not had the impact he would have hoped for.

Having narrowly won Setien’s first two games in charge by just one goal, the Catalan giants lost 2-0 away at Valencia in LaLiga on Saturday.

And the performance has raised questions about the former Watford target’s ability to manage the team of superstars.

Spanish outlet AS claimed after the game some of Barca’s most senior players got together to discuss their dodgy form.

The report read: “While the coach, accompanied by Éder Sarabia, tried to correct the numerous tactical mistakes the team had made.

“A few of the more experienced players held a brief meeting of their own to find out why the team had imploded and what they were going to do next.”

And amid the private chat a player reportedly said: “It’s going to be impossible if we continue this way.

“We have more players behind the ball than in front of it and it shouldn’t be happening.

“We need to be more penetrating and move the ball about quicker because we are making it too easy for Valencia.”

A Catalonian radio station also claimed: “The coach’s first talk surprised the players. He was very demanding.

“Some of the players do not understand the coach’s words.

“And there are players who do not understand their role.”

Barca have dropped to second in LaLiga and sit three point behind league leaders Real Madrid.
