Egypt and Sudan book second round tickets at 2020 Continental Cup

Massawa, Eritrea, January 22, 2020 – Egypt and Sudan women’s beach volleyball teams captured second round tickets to the 2020 CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Cup after they finished first and second respectively at the Women’s Pool 7 tournament held at Gesgum Beach in Massawa, Eritrea.
Egypt beat all their opponents on their way to clinching the second round ticket, starting against Sudan 2-0 (21-14, 21-15) and 2-0 (21-11, 21-11). They then outplayed hosts Eritrea 2-0 (21-6, 21-8) and 2-0 (21-8, 21-5) and South Sudan 2-0 (21-8, 21-5) and 2-0 (21-8, 21-13).
Sudan finished the round robin tournament in second place after they beat Eritrea (2-0 and 2-1) and South Sudan (2-1, 2-0) and lost against Egypt.
Eritrea finished third, ahead of South Sudan.
