Mane, 27, was replaced by new signing Takumi Minamino.

And fans will now be waiting anxiously for a diagnosis ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury.

Speaking after the game, Klopp said: “We don’t know exactly.

“It’s probably a muscle. He felt something, a hamstring.

“We have to wait. we will see.”

Mane has been one of Liverpool’s top performers this season with 15 goals in 30 games.

And Klopp will be hoping the Senegal international can return for next week’s league trip to West Ham.

Mane recently beat teammate Mo Salah to be crowned African Player of the Year.

And ex-Newcastle ace Papiss Cisse has told SunSport Mane can become the best player in the world.

His fine form has led to strong interest from Real Madrid.

But Mane is fully focused on helping Liverpool secure their first ever Premier League title after leading them to Champions League glory in 2019.

Mane, who saw Liverpool miss out on last season’s title to Man City by just a point, said: “We’ve learned from the mistakes of last year.

“That was a tough time for us. You have to keep trying to be mentally sharp.

“If you lose the league that hurts in the head mentally, so we always focus on the same target – to win something.

“There are so many games but tiredness is in the head. This is not a problem for us.

“I think we’re better this season than last year.

“You have to sacrifice yourself when you’re in our situation. You deal with it and keep going until the end.”
