RALPH HASENHUTTL feels Danny Ings is ready for an England call-up again — because he is scoring goals for a “smaller club”.
Southampton’s red-hot striker has hit ten goals in 11 Prem games and is being tipped to replace crocked Harry Kane for the March friendlies against Italy and Denmark.

Marcus Rashford has also been battling injuries in recent weeks – and most-recently limped off just 15 minutes after coming off the bench in the FA Cup clash with Wolves.
Saints boss Hasenhuttl said: “I think it’s always more spectacular if you are scoring for a team that’s not a so-called big club — that really proves you can do it.
“If one player from my squad deserves an England place in the next squad, then it’s him.
“Danny’s done a marvellous job in the last few weeks and he has scored unbelievable and important goals for us all season.
“It’s perhaps the best we’ve ever seen him.
“He is playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and is shooting well at every opportunity.”
Ings, 27, tore knee ligaments just days after his sole England cap in October 2015.
The former Liverpool star has even more of a shot of earning a Three Lions place, after a top doctor warned Kane could miss SIX MONTHS.
Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Chris Wilson said: “I would expect it to be six months before he could return to action.
“If it was me I would say aim for getting fit for pre-season training.
“I am aware in Harry Kane’s case they have been saying April or May – I have to say I would be very surprised.”
