Manuel Neuer ‘ready to quit Bayern Munich’ putting Premier League clubs on red alert over transfer

MANUEL NEUER could ditch Bayern Munich in his search for first-team supremacy – with a move to the Premier League on the cards, according to reports.

The German giants have a deal to bring in Schalke shot-stopper Alexander Nubel, 23, from next season in a move indicated as a long-term replacement for Neuer.

Following a long-term foot injury, the goalkeeper feels he is still capable of keeping his No1 jersey for a number of years.

But France Football claim a row has broken out between Bayern and Neuer following Nubel’s capture.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have run the prospect of the newboy playing 15 games next season by the German World Cup winner.

Neuer reportedly replied: “Out of the question.

“As long as I am here, I will play every game, regardless of the competition, and even every friendly match.”

The fracture could cause a serious break in the relationship between the 33-year-old and Bayern, who signed him from Schalke in 2011.

An extension to the 18 months left on his contract was reportedly looking likely until his hesitation over the Nubel deal.

If Neuer does leave he is said to fancy a move to the Premier League or possibly Juventus.

Nubel was captain of Schalke when signing a pre-contract agreement with Bayern in January – losing him the armband.

And a number of figures in German football have criticised the player’s decision, including national team boss Joachim Low.

He remarked: “I am a supporter of young players getting as much playing time as possible. That way they can develop better.

“If a player is 20 or 21 and sits on the bench for two or three years, I don’t know if that’s useful.”
