Fed up Aston Villa fans leave their seats just 28 minutes into Man City clash as visitors race into 3-0 lead

FED UP Aston Villa fans left their seats after just 28 minutes of the clash against Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side raced into a 4-0 half-time lead courtesy of two goals from Riyad Mahrez, one from Sergio Aguero and another from Gabriel Jesus.

As Aguero wheeled away in celebration, cameras panned to the stands at Villa Park and caught a number of people walking away from their seats.

Whether they actually left the ground or just needed a stiff drink is up for debate.

The defending Premier League champions went on to win 6-1, with Aguero landing the hat-trick, before El-Ghazi pulled one back from the spot for Villa in front of a half-empty Holte End.

Still, social media was relentless in its mockery.

One said: “Some Villa fans are leaving already. That could be a bad decision. You really want to be there if someone puts 10 goals past you.

“That’s something to tell the grandkids.”

Another posted: “Aston Villa fans leaving the stadium after 28 minutes because their team is losing 3-0, plastic fans.”

One comment read: “Aston Villa fans leaving Villa park. Did they actually think they was going to beat City? They was always going to destroy you. There’s a reason why you’re getting relegated and sent back to where you belong.. shocking!!!”

Another wrote: “Not even 30 mins and walking out…. shocking… deluded…. awful embarrassing fan base.”

A fellow user said: “Aston Villa fans are a joke. Doesn’t matter if Man City are tearing you apart you stay for the full 90 minutes.”

Mahrez opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he found a way through Villa’s defence to slot home.

One became two six minutes later when he benefited from ex-Leicester team-mate Danny Drinkwater’s horror mistake in his own box.

Aguero made it three and queasy with his own brilliant goal that sent the fans leaving in droves.

At least they didn’t have to see Gabriel Jesus make it four just before half-time.
