Watch Giovani Lo Celso’s miss of season as Mourinho hilariously drops to knee in amazement against Liverpool

GIOVANI LO CELSO produced a miss of the season contender that forced Jose Mourinho to his knees in anguish.

The Spurs boss is having to make do without Harry Kane almost certainly for the rest of the season after he had surgery on his hamstring.

So there could not have been a worse time to face Jurgen Klopp’s runaway Premier League leaders.

Roberto Firmino gave the visitors the lead in North London but it should have been 1-1 when Serge Aurier sent an 83rd-minute pass into the path of Lo Celso.

Somehow, inexplicably, unbelievably, the 23-year-old Argentina midfielder sent his virtual tap-in wide.

The miss was so bad it forced Mourinho – who had a selfie fail with a fan – to drop to his knees in disbelief and horror.

And social media users were left stunned too.

One wrote: “Lo Celso better sleep with his eyes open.”

Another posted: “Jose set up brilliantly what can he do if Lo Celso misses from a yard. These people are determined to hate Mourinho.”

One comment read: “Liverpool won the game but Mourinho’s reaction after Lo Celso’s miss won our hearts.”

A fellow user wrote: “Mourinho falling to his knees after that Lo Celso miss is a meme waiting to happen.”

Another wrote: “How in God’s name did Lo Celso miss that opportunity? Mourinho’s reaction says it all.”

Firmino’s goal puts Liverpool 16 points clear – and means the Reds have now set the record for the best ever start to a season in Europe’s top five leagues.

It also means they are 38 games unbeaten and in with a great chance of matching Arsenal’s legendary Invincibles season.

Jose Mourinho hints he needs some players in January but insists he can work with the squad he has available
