Desperate Man Utd make transfer move for Wolves ace Raul Jimenez as striker search continues for Solskjaer

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly keen on a move for Wolves marksman Raul Jimenez.

The Red Devils are desperate to add more goals to their front-line, having opted not to replace Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

And Jimenez has impressed United chiefs since his move to the Molineux, catching the eye with his impressive link-up play and eye for goal.

Sky Sports claim that the interest from Old Trafford is firm, but that a deal would be very difficult to conclude this month, with Wolves reluctant to sell.

Jimenez’s move from Benfica to Molineux was only made permanent in April last year, after spending his initial season in the Premier League on loan from the Portuguese giants.

The 28-year-old netted 17 goals in his first season in England, and has already equalled that this term, bagging eight in the league and nine in the Europa League.

The Mexican has previously hinted that he may not be at Wolves for the long-term, however.

On a possible move away, told Marca: “I’d have to look at the conditions [of a possible transfer], if they suited myself, Wolves and the other club.”

Jimenez continues to be a key man for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, especially with them having already let summer signing Patrick Cutrone return to Italy.

The former AC Milan striker failed to ever really threaten Jimenez’s place in the starting XI, and has signed an 18 month loan deal with Fiorentina.

Manchester United meanwhile, also hold an interest in Lyon forward Moussa Dembele.

The Frenchman has been in fine form in Ligue 1 since his £20million move from Celtic in 2018.

But again, a January deal for the 23-year-old would be very difficult to pull off, with Lyon reluctant to sell.

The French side have recently lost forward options Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine-Adelaide to long-term injuries – making them loathe to lose another attacking option.

Despite their patchy form this season, United still have a chance of finishing in the top four, currently sitting sixth – five points behind Chelsea in the final Champions League spot.
