Paul Pogba facing Man Utd transfer exit blow with Zidane ‘not looking to make any Real Madrid signings this month’

PAUL POGBA is facing more misery at Manchester United after reports claimed Real Madrid are not looking to buy this month.

Spanish publication AS say Zinedine Zidane is still desperate to sign Pogba – but not this window.

And they claim that any move for the unsettled World Cup winner will have to wait until the summer.

SunSport told you exclusively how Pogba’s time at Old Trafford is over.

Both the club and player want him to get away from United and Pogba’s team-mates are certain he is finished.

United’s £89million record signing believes he cannot afford to hang around as he chases more titles.

Pogba, 26, has made just two sub appearances since late September due to an ankle injury.

United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer claimed the midfielder would be in his squad for the New Year’s Day trip to Arsenal.

But he was absent and Solskjaer revealed he now needs an ankle op that would keep him out for the whole of January.

AS said last month that Real chiefs – namely Florentino Perez – see 21-year-old Uruguay midfielder Federico Valverde as the “future of the club”.

It is claimed central midfielder Valverde has been tipped for big things inside the Bernabeu since 2015.

And none other than Diego Forlan has predicted the same thing for the national side.

Valverde has netted twice in 14 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos this season, who currently sit second in the table behind Barcelona.

Chiefs rate his progression so highly that they see no need to splash around £85million on the World Cup-winning Frenchman.

Perez is also a notoriously tough dealer in the January market.

He authorised the purchase of Brahim Diaz from Man City in January 2019 but brought in no new players in the winter window of 2016/17 or 2017/18.
