Nemanja Matic reveals he is considering Man Utd transfer exit with future yet to be decided amid interest from abroad

NEMANJA MATIC is keeping his options open in January as he enters the final six months of his Manchester United contract.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Burnley but has managed just four Premier League appearances this season.

And Matic, 31, has admitted that he is looking at options elsewhere as negotiations have not begun on a new contract.

He told Telegraf: “I don’t know what to say. I have a contract for another six months, we’ll see in January what’s going to happen. Will I extend the contract or try to find something else?

“United have some option to extend my contract, but we will see if the plans of the club match my plans. I couldn’t say anything more because I don’t really know either.”

Matic has been linked with Inter Milan, where former team-mates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez moved last summer – although the Chilean is only on loan.

While Atletico Madrid have also been touted as a potential destination for Matic with his Old Trafford future in the balance.

The Jose Mourinho favourite joined United in 2017 but has not replicated his dominant performances for Chelsea.

And he does not fit in with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tactical approach as the Norwegian looks to build a pacey, young line-up.

Matic will hope to be involved as Serbia take on Norway in March bidding to reach Euro 2020 via the play-offs.
