Football fans rage as VAR rules out Pedro Neto equaliser for Wolves at Liverpool by smallest of margins

FANS tore into VAR’S offside antics again as Neto became the latest player to have a goal ruled out by the tiniest of margins.

Just after Sadio Mane put Liverpool ahead at Anfield when VAR adjudged Adam Lallana had not handled, Joao Moutinho’s boot was ryled millimetres offside at the other end in the build-up to Neto’s equaliser on 45 minutes.

And many supporters on social media seem just as fed up with hairline verdicts as they are with delays in waiting for VAR decisions.

Neto himself took stick online for his wild celebrations, a wide-armed, hand-spinning spring to near the dugouts, ending with a knee dive… only to get up in despair at the “NO GOAL” outcome.

‘SOON NO-ONE WILL CELEBRATE’

But mostly fans on Twitter appear to be running out of patience with goal glee being replaced by anti-climaxes and controversial VAR rulings.

One supporter posted: “We’ll reach the stage soon where no-one will dare celebrate a goal.”

Some questioned how VAR could be sure when making such tight calls.

And another football follower tweeted: “Even as a Liverpool fan the score should be 1-1.

“VAR did make a correct decision based on the rules but he rule is negatively affecting the game imo.

“That makes Carroll, Burn, Pukki and Neto in 2 days to have a goal ruled out by that margin and it’s just wrong.”
