West Ham will back David Moyes to lead them out of trouble – with Chelsea outcast Olivier Giroud his top target

And Olivier Giroud is among the targets as the Hammers board plan to support Moyes in the transfer window.

Unsettled Chelsea striker Giroud would increase competition on Sebastien Haller, who has scored only ONCE in the last 11 games.

Moyes, who joined for the first time in November 2017 and kept them up, returns with the club a point above the drop zone.

Ahead of hosting Bournemouth on Wednesday, he said: “It feels great to be home.

I’ve missed being here as I enjoyed being around the stadium, loved this part of the world and I missed the club.”

Moyes, 56, has agreed an initial 18-month deal with the option to extend it by a further year.

He replaces axed Manuel Pellegrini — the man who succeeded Moyes in May 2018 when his deal ended.

But Moyes added: “I do believe the squad I’ve got here is better than when I took over before.

“The short-term goal is just to get wins to get us away from the bottom.”
