A SCREAMING TV reporter got little sympathy from show presenters when he got cramp live on air during BBC’s Final Score.
John Acres cramped up the volume and roared as if stung by Hornets – as he reported on Watford’s 3-0 over Aston Villa entering stoppage time.

But far from expressing concern, the BBC’s own Match of the Day twitter account gleefully posted: “What’s going on with John Acres?!” – followed by three laughing emoticons.
Amused Acres fired back on Twitter, saying: “Hammy gone! Live on @BBCOne no sympathy from this lot. @jasonmohammad @AlexScott @JonWalters19 #bbcfootball #WatfordFC #WATAVL #hamstring.”
Earlier he had howled with pain as he tried to yelp out his verdict on the pitch action, opening with: “I’ve got cramp, Jason! – two games in three days.”
Aching Acres soon added: “Argh! My hamstring! Argh! It’s painful!”
But turning the situation quickly and slickly to his advantage, he added of the Hornets: “They’re so comfortable – more comfortable than me at the moment.”
And after screaming again, Acres joked: “It’s not just footballers who have it tough at Christmas.”
Stunned Final Score presenter Jason Mohammad told viewers he thought he had seen and heard it all in football punditry – until now.
But as his fellow presenters chortled, smiling Mohammad insisted: “I genuinely thought he was joking!”
Acres had the last laugh, though – taking the joshing well and getting a positive response to his own tweet.
And when one tweeter said: “You are a LEGEND!” he replied: “Funnily enough it was my Leg-end that was the problem!”
Acres is also a BBC Radio Stoke presenter who now has a claim to fame ALMOST matching what he previously judged to be his top moment.
Asked by his radio station to reveal his most illustrious occasion, he replied: “I once met the Wurzels!”
Meanwhile, even if Acres can’t have a right old knees-up at the moment, lowly Watford are surely doing just that, as new boss Nigel Adkins celebrated his latest impressive result, a Troy Deeney-inspired victory to boost their survival bid.
