A Spurs statement read: “We can confirm that we have identified and issued an immediate ban to the individual responsible for throwing a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during Sunday’s Premier League home fixture.

“We shall continue to take the strongest action possible against anyone found to be behaving in this way.

“Fans are reminded that our Ground Regulations state – the following acts are offences under the Football (Offences) Act 1991 (as amended):

“• The throwing of any object within the Ground without lawful authority or excuse.

“• The chanting of anything of an indecent or racist nature.

“• The entry onto the playing area or any adjacent area to which spectators are not generally admitted without lawful authority or excuse.

“Our investigation into the alleged racist abuse against Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger remains ongoing.”

Rudiger was allegedly subjected to vile monkey chants and reported the incident to his captain Cesar Azpilicueta, who in turn informed referee Anthony Taylor.

As revealed by SunSport, police investigated another separate incident involving racist discrimination aimed at the German.

Announcements were made over the PA system at White Hart Lane that any abuse will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, also following the same game, a Blues supporter was arrested for racially abusing Son Heung-min.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were made aware of alleged racist chanting during the second half of the Tottenham vs Chelsea match on Sunday, 22 December. Officers will work with the club in an attempt to identify any people responsible.”
