TOTTENHAM’S defeat to Chelsea looks to have hit Danny Rose hard as he stood alone on the field long after the stands had emptied.
The left-back replaced Jan Vertonghen with 16 minutes to play but could not help his side recover from a 2-0 deficit.
Danny Rose was spotted looking around the stadium as the stands emptied
And fans spotted Rose, 29, looking around the deserted stadium 15 minutes after the final whistle.
@thespursweb tweeted a photo of the ace, with the caption: “He may not be the world’s best LB, he may be declining, he may not be at the peak of his game.
“But Danny Rose stood on the pitch for a solid 15 minutes, contemplating the afternoon. I do feel sorry for him, he has been here since day 1.”
Another Spurs fan replied: “I witnessed this. He actually went into the dressing room. Came out after 5m. Sat there for 5m.
“Sacramento ran out to ask if he was okay, to which he said he was. Then he started warming down on his own.
“Not sure whether it was the result or the racism but something was up.”
Rose has suffered racist abuse while on England duty and saw fellow pro Antonio Rudiger suggest that Spurs fans aimed monkey chants at him during yesterday’s game.
The allegations overshadowed the game as the sickening racism continues to be a blight on the domestic game.
Spurs left-back Rose has used his position to speak out and has admitted that he cannot wait to hang up his boots as he is tired of the abuse.
