Man Utd questioned by Peterborough owner after demanding £200k to send youngsters out on loan

He wrote: ”Back in summer but gave up when they wanted a £200k loan fee.

“Usual s***e. So not at the moment. Hopefully the powers to be see one of their talented youngsters playing for us (ala Knight from Leicester) is more important than a loan fee we cant financially do budget wise.”

This tweet came in response to a question directed on the social media site towards MacAnthony, asking him if he had tried to get any United players on loan recently.

The question clearly triggering him.

United boss Solskjaer is keen to develop his young stars and has shown his interest in promoting youth as he hopes to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.

For this reason it could be understood why he has put such a high price on their heads.

Mason Greenwood and Tahith Chong have made their way up into the first-team and both have bright futures ahead of them, but there are still others to nurture.

Dillon Hoogewerf, 16, signed for United in the summer from Ajax, where he impressed with ten goals for their U17 squad last season.

Other hopefuls include 17-year-old Teden Mengi, 18-year-old Arnau Puigmal, 15-year-old Shola Shoretire (youngest ever Uefa Youth League player) and 17-year-old Charlie Wellens.

Another academy starlet who has caught the media’s attention recently is Deji Sotona, who has been named as the club’s fastest player.

The 17-year-old’s top speed during recent tests at Carrington, according to the Daily Mail, is 22.9mph, making him faster than first-team players Marcus Rashford and Daniel James.
