RB SALZBURG striker Erling Haaland’s father Alf-Inge has given his son his blessing to join Manchester United – despite Red Devils legend Roy Keane wrecking his career.
The 19-year-old has held talks with Borussia Dortmund and sister club Leipzig as the January window approaches.

But United are hoping of landing the Norwegian after boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who managed the teenager during his time at Molde – made a personal trip to meet him.
Alf-Inge Haaland – who played for the clubs rivals Manchester City – had his knee severely damaged in a horror tackle by Roy Keane in 2001, which ultimately cut short his career as he retired in 2003.
The former Nottingham Forest and Leeds star – who had a long-running feud with Keane – once revealed: “I really dislike United and I can’t stand their players.”
But despite his ill-feeling towards England’s most successful side, he has claimed it would be “nice” for his son to link up with the Premier League team.
Speaking to TV2, he said: “It would be nice. It is important to distinguish between being a supporter and a job.
“So I have a very relaxed relationship with that. It’s a little different when it’s serious. Yes, I think most players dream of being in the Premier League at one time or another.
“It’s the league that gets the most attention around, and it has very good quality teams. There is no doubt the Premier League is attractive to him.”
United boss Solskjaer hopes his face-to-face meeting in Austria with Haaland will have helped clinch a deal for RB Salzburg’s prized star.
But the player has set his sights on a move to another English team, as he stated he wants to lead the Whites to top-flight glory in the future.
Haaland – who was born in Yorkshire – said in 2017: “The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.
“In addition, the goal is to become a better player than my dad was. I hope to get more caps than he did.”
