DUNCAN FERGUSON ruled himself out of the running for the Everton job — despite his brilliant start.

But the board are still believed to be favouring the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and their ex-boss David Moyes.
Ferguson said: “It’s buying them a bit of time to get the right man in. With a couple of results, they can make the process more diligent.
“We need the best manager in the world and I’ve not got the experience. I’m all for us bringing in a top manager and if I can be part of it then great.”
Ferguson said he planned to hold talks with the directors last night.
Everton face Leicester in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday and he looks certain to be still in charge.
Ferguson, who beat Chelsea 3-1 in his first game, added: “I really don’t know about Wednesday but I think I will be.
“It’s a quick turnaround for a new guy to come in before Wednesday but I need to speak to the directors and owners. I will do that on Sunday night — they’ll confirm it with another statement.”
Former Goodison striker Ferguson, 47, plans talks with Moise Kean today.

Ferguson said: “It’s understandable if you’re a a sub and get subbed off.
“I needed fresh legs and he was the one to bring off, I see why he’s upset, but it’s about the team.
I’ll speak to him on Monday. We’ll pick him up, he’ll come again, he’s only 19.”
