Chelsea fans demand club sign Sancho and count down to January window after ‘worst half of 2019’ against Bournemouth

CHELSEA fans woke up on Sunday morning nursing yet another disappointing home defeat that strengthened calls for Jadon Sancho.

The Borussia Dortmund winger is one of many star names linked with the club ahead of their return to the transfer market next month.

Losing 1-0 at home to Bournemouth on Saturday, some Blues supporters turned on Mason Mount and Frank Lampard amid a lack of attacking inspiration.

The Chelsea coach has relied on England international Mount to link up with Tammy Abraham but, along with poor showings from Willian and Christian Pulisic, it failed to click throughout this game.

With the score goalless at half-time, fans were already seething.

Twitter user Umair wrote: “That was the worst first half of the season at the Bridge… Everyone looks sloppy, tired and out of their mind. Rudiger/Tammy the only ones trying.”

Gulic added: “Hire a competent manager next time.”

One fan commented: “Worst first half of football under Lampard am not joking.”

The race for Sancho will heat up in January with Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City all said to be monitoring the winger.

Chelsea missed the opportunity to sign players in the summer due to a FIFA transfer ban but earned the right to make moves again after their sentence was cut by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

And Sancho would certainly be a popular signing after a second home defeat to a mid-table side in three league games.

One supporter tweeted: “Seriously lads sign Sancho, this is awful. Shocking stuff.”

Rap wrote: “Sancho to Chelsea please.”

And Chung surmised: “He put his faith in Mount and 4-2-3-1 formation with Mount behind Abraham. Mount is not good enough to play for Chelsea. Lampard needs to come back with 4-3-3 form. And Sancho is a good supplement for this shape.”
