EVERTON and Arsenal are set for a managerial tug of war over Carlo Ancelotti after the Italian was sacked by Napoli last night.
The ex-Chelsea boss was given his marching orders by the Italian club after beating Genk 4-0 in the Champions League in his final game in charge.

He was recently involved in a feud with the Napoli board after his players refused to take part in an enforced training retreat.
Before last night’s Champions League win, Napoli were nine games without a win, which seems to have pushed the board to act.
A club statement read: “SSC Napoli has decided to revoke the role of first-team coach from Mr Carlo Ancelotti.
“The rapport of friendship, admiration and reciprocal respect between the club, its president (Aurelio De Laurentiis) and Carlo Ancelotti remain intact.”
And the sacking will now spark a tug of war between the Toffees and the Gunners who both recently sacked their managers Marco Silva and Unai Emery.
Everton have now highlighted Ancelotti as their number one target and will soon make an approach, according to the Telegraph.
Ancelotti is said to be open to the prospect of moving back to England but may see what Arsenal offer before committing to the Merseysiders.

The Everton interest will spark the North Londoners into action after SunSport revelealed they also plan to enter talks with the former Real Madrid boss.
Duncan Ferguson is in temporary charge at Goodison and won his first and only game with the 3-1 win against Chelsea on Saturday.
And Gunners temporary gaffer Freddie Ljungberg had to wait until Monday for his first win – also a 3-1 triumph but at hapless West Ham.
Ancelotti would expect to feature high on this list if he got either job
