IT was a dream afternoon for Spurs as they bounced back from Wednesday’s loss at Old Trafford in the most perfect possible way.
They looked rampant on the counter-attack, with Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and particularly Harry Kane absolutely terrorising the Burnley back line.

After blitzing into a comfortable early lead, the Clarets found it impossible to find a way back into the match, or even to keep the score down.
The match will likely to be most remembered for an absolutely sensational solo goal from Son Heung-min, as the South Korean ran the length of the pitch to put Tottenham 3-0 up in the first half.
SunSport runs the rule over Spurs’ performers on a great afternoon in N17.
PAULO GAZZANIGA – 6
Quiet afternoon for the Argentine international. Rarely involved but was fine when needed.
SERGE AURIER – 6
Plenty of darting runs in behind Burnley’s bewildered and frankly overworked backline. Troubled defensively by Dwight McNeil, who was able to deliver a number of dangerous crosses. A performance littered with silly fouls. Went off injured late on.

DAVINSON SANCHEZ – 7
Crucial goal-line block after Brady had hit the bar. Not always brilliant with his distribution, but ultimately solid.
TOBY ALDERWEIRELD – 7
Imperious and composed, the Belgian combined excellent distribution with stunning cross field passes. Seems to be playing with more vigour and verve.

JAN VERTONGHEN – 7
Good distribution and solid in the challenge. Given a much easier afternoon by Brady than he was by Daniel James.
ERIC DIER – 7
Quietly effective in shutting down Burnley attacks. It’s hard to imagine that Son would have managed to get through like he did for his wonder-goal had Dier been in the Burnley ranks. Booked for a foul on Jeff Hendrick.

MOUSSA SISSOKO – 8
Cruelly denied by the post after a charge into the box. Wasn’t to be denied in the second half though. Another lung-busting run into the penalty area rewarded as Kane picked him out from the left. Showed great composure top slot calmly past Pope.
LUCAS MOURA – 7
Gratefully poked home a sitter in the first ten minutes. Pressed doggedly when out of possession. Quieter than the other attackers but a useful display. Replaced by Sessegnon.
DELE ALLI – 7
Determined header put Lucas’ goal on a plate for him. Plenty of nice touches and his presence clearly frightened those in claret and blue.
SON HEUNG-MIN – 9
Terrorised Lowton. Brilliant dribble and shot in the build up to the second goal. Scored an all-time classic goal to put Spurs 3-0 up in the first half with an incredible solo run through the heart of the Burnley team.

HARRY KANE – 9
Sensational strike from range to smack Spurs into an early lead. Caused Burnley absolute havoc when dropping deep and when hugging the last defender. Shook off an ankle scare to immediately score a brilliant fourth goal for Spurs, rifling the ball into the roof of the net from ten yards. Lovely subtle little through ball to set up Sissoko. STAR MAN
SUBSTITUTES –
Ryan Sessegnon (for Lucas Moura, 75th minute) – Didn’t have time to make a major impact, a few tidy passes. 6
Oliver Skipp (for Serge Aurier, 80th minute) – Tidy cameo from the teenage midfielder. 6
Troy Parrott (for Dele Alli, 85th minute) – Exciting day for the 17-year-old, to make his league debut. The first of many, you’d assume. 6
