LEICESTER CITY have announced that Brendan Rodgers has signed a new five-and-half-year deal at the King Power Stadium.
The new contract puts an end to speculation surrounding a potential move to Arsenal for the Northern Irishman.

His contract had previously run until 2022, but this season’s outstanding performances have convinced the club that he is their man for the long-term.
The new contract won’t stop Arsenal potentially returning for him in the summer, should they still need a new manager.
But today’s announcement would make any approach more difficult and certainly expensive.
According to podcast, The Transfer Window, Rodgers has doubled his wages to an eye watering £10million a year.
And Rodgers himself said: “We’ve been talking for a few weeks. It’s a great club. We just want to keep progressing. We’re looking to continue on our legacy.
“We don’t have the wealth of the top six, but perhaps we can do this in a different way.”
Rodgers ditched Celtic for the Foxes back in February, and has dramatically improved the club’s fortunes.
After transforming the mood around the club after Claude Puel’s dour reign, Rodgers quickly fuelled his talented squad with confidence and belief.

And fired up by the goals of Jamie Vardy and the creativity of James Maddison, Leicester find themselves second in the table – ahead of the likes of Manchester City.
Rodgers came close to ending Liverpool’s title drought in 2014 when he was manager at Anfield.
But things swiftly fell apart and he found himself sacked and replaced by Jurgen Klopp in October 2015.
But the former Swansea manager dusted himself down and rebuilt his reputation north of the border in two-and-a-half trophy-laden years at Celtic.
But he then enraged Hoops supporters by sacrificing the opportunity see through a historic treble-treble, in favour of moving to Leicester.
And some Foxes fans may have feared that Rodgers would do the same to them after being heavily linked with the vacant hotseat at the Emirates.
But the stability and ambition at Leicester these days is an attractive proposition for managers, and enough to see them keep many of their best stars.
And having won their last seven Premier League matches in a row, Rodgers appears to be leading Leicester back into the Champions League.
They made the quarter-finals back in 2017 in their only previous appearance.
