Man Utd mocked with Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall’s bizarre and hilarious pre-match Old Trafford playlist

MANCHESTER UNITED are rolling rather than Holding Back the Years at Old Trafford tonight with a bizarre pre-match playlist from Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall.

The famous popstar is a huge United fan and has been called in to produce the pre-match tunes which he hopes will inspire their Stars to victory against Spurs.

Simply Red’s banger BadBootz is first in the list while The Gap Band’s Oops Upside Your Head is second with Hucknall urging fans to: “Change the ‘oops’ to ‘boots’ and hope the boys use them well tonight.”

Brass Construction’s Movin is third as Spurs look to make Old Trafford into a ‘Fairground’ on Jose Mourinho’s return to United.

And in hopeful – and perhaps deluded fashion, Hucknall has Keni Burke’s Risin to the Top in at fourth.

Before Gene Allison’s You Can Make it if You Try brings up the rear.

Despite the attempt to evoke a feel good factor before the game, fans online were quick to mock.

One tweeted: “It would be incredibly apt if he chooses to play ‘Money’s too tight to mention’ at Old Trafford tonight.”

And another added: “Can we also add Sad Old Red and Broken Man to that playlist?”

After training as a masseur in 2009, Simply Red guitarist Sylvan Richardson is now Liverpool’s masseur having been appointed in July 2010.
