And Cherki has already made his Champions League debut for Rudi Garcia’s team.

The teenage sensation can play anywhere across the front line.

And last season became the youngest ever player to score in the Uefa Youth League aged just 15 and 33 days.

90min claim that Liverpool have placed an emphasis on recruiting young talent, and are “hopeful” of a move.

But standing in their way will be North West rivals Man United and City – as well as European giants Real Madrid.

And Zinedine Zidane’s side aren’t the only team that the Premier League trio will have to compete with for Cherki’s signature.

He is being monitored by the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Ajax.

Cherki has represented France at youth level, but is also eligible for Algeria.

And he has been compared with fellow French-Algerian Lyon academy product Karim Benzema.

As well as former Lyon and PSG trickster Hatem Ben Arfa.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas drives a notoriously hard bargain, as Liverpool found out during their pursuit of Nabil Fekir in the summer of 2018.

But Aulas is believed to be resigned to losing Lyon’s prised young talent – and a deal could be possible in January.
