Wayne Rooney’s iconic overhead for Man Utd against City recreated by Amazon Prime Video using Tower Bridge

And Amazon brought Peter Crouch down to the River Thames to help them recreate the memorable strike.

Crouch was also there to pick up his award for “Best Celebration”.

And the lanky former Tottenham striker will be part of Prime Video’s coverage of the Premier League this month.

In recreating Rooney’s strike, the recently retired 38-year-old Crouch played the role of Nani – whipping crosses across the Thames.

Waiting in the middle… a giant statue of Rooney, waiting to smash the ball through Tower Bridge to finish.

Rooney’s derby day winner narrowly beat strikes from David Beckham and Dennis Bergkamp to scoop the accolade of being the Prem’s greatest ever goal, as voted for by fans.

In fact, it only overcame Becks’ halfway line stunner against Wimbledon by just ONE percent.

Among the other prizes handed out were Best Ever Player, Best English Player, Best Ever Manager, Best Team and Best Celebration.

Crouchy’s robot obviously won Best Celebration – while Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo secured Best Ever Player.

Best English Player went to Alan Shearer – while Best Ever Manager was resoundingly won by the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

And Ferguson’s treble-winning 1999 Manchester United team scooped up the Best team gong.

Prime Video are showing Premier League football for the first time this month – streaming every game this midweek, as well on Boxing Day.
