Lausanne, Switzerland, November 29, 2019 – The Eritrean Volleyball Federation linked up with the FIVB and  Olympic Solidarity to host a level 1 volleyball coaching course.

About 30 female coaches took part in the course which gave them the skills to go and begin their coaching careers or enhance their skills as sports teachers.

The level 1 coaching course took place over 12 days and ensures that the candidates can coach basic volleyball techniques and prepare a team.

The course was run by FIVB instructor Catherine Mabwi, who hails from Kenya and is the first African woman to lead FIVB coaching courses.

“If you really work hard, I am sure you will make a difference in your area,” she told the participants. “We saw improvement and quick development. We are very happy to be here.”
