CRISTIANO RONALDO claimed he would only play national team games and those in the Champions League if it was down to him.
The Portuguese megastar thinks it’s these games that set stars apart rather than the day to day of regular league fixtures.

Ronaldo recently hit 700 career goals and is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time.
But asked by France Football magazine whether he gets stressed out by everything that comes with being such an iconic footballer, his answer was surprising.
Ronaldo, 34, said: “I’ll tell you, if it were up to me, I would only play some important games. Those of the national team and the Champions League.
“It’s these kinds of games that emerge, those with a stake, a difficult environment, a pressure.
“After, you have to be pro and perform well every day to honour your family and the club you represent and who pays you for it.
“So, always give the best.”
Ronaldo has millions of admirers around the world but surprisingly does not consider that important.
He added: “For the rest, I do not attach much importance to the reactions of the public.”
After he struck his 700th goal, Ronaldo claimed he had no plans to retire while he still feels sharp.
