And although Jurgen Klopp’s men host Brighton on Saturday with an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League, fitness niggles have been mounting.

Knee injury victim Joel Matip is still out, although Mo Salah returned against Napoli after hurting his ankle.

Keeper Alisson Becker and Naby Keita have overcome early-season injuries, but Xherdan Shaqiri has only now returned to fitness.

Anchorman Fabinho appeared happy enough in the snap with fellow Brazilian Deco.

AWKWARD CHALLENGE

But Klopp will be especially keen for the 26-year-old to regain peak shape as Fabinho has been in such sharp form this term.

He tumbled early on against Napoli after an awkward challenge on striker Hirving Lozano.

On came Georginio Wijnaldum, with Liverpool trailing 1-0.

And centre-back Dejan Lovren nodded a leveller midway through the second period.

Barcelona legend Deco has a strong relationship with Fabinho, who joined Liverpool from Monaco for £45million in May 2018.

Deco is an agent with Jorge Mendes for GestiFute, which represents Fabinho.

Klopp admitted he is concerned by the “massive” injury.

The German said after the draw with Napoli: “The biggest thing is the Fabinho injury, that’s massive.
“It’s early and we all hope it’s not too serious but it’s pretty painful and in an area you don’t want to have pain, around the ankle.”
