HARRY KANE set a new Champions League record last night after firing two past Olympiakos.
The Tottenham superstar became the fastest player to hit 20 goals in the competition, overtaking the legendary Alessandro Del Piero.
It has taken Kane just 24 matches to reach the landmark, two games quicker than the Italian and three quicker than ex-Manchester United star Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Filippo Inzaghi needed 28 matches while former Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez required 32 games.
Captain Kane ensured Spurs’ qualification to the knockout stages with his double in a 4-2 win over the Greek side.
But he had the Tottenham ballboy to thank after the young lad’s quick thinking played a major role in setting up his first goal of the night.
It was his fifth and sixth Champions League goals of the season but he still sits behind Robert Lewandowski and young sensation Erling Braut Haaland in the scoring chart.
Bayern star Lewandowski scored a staggering four goals in just 14 minutes against Red Star Belgrade to take his tally to 10 for the campaign.
Haaland, making his debut in the competition, already has seven in just four appearances.
The Red Bull Salzburg 19-year-old is the only player that appears capable of breaking Kane’s record if he continues his remarkable form in front of goal.
He needs another 13 goals in 16 appearances to pip the Spurs man and will be given a great opportunity to make his move away at Genk tonight.
