And Football Insider claims the Dutchman has been identified as a target.
The 24-year-old would provide an ideal replacement for Jan Vertonghen, who is expected to leave when his contract expires next summer.
Spurs have been linked with Ake for months.
Now it’s claimed they are set to step-up their scouting on him over the coming weeks.
However, whether he wants to link up with Mourinho could put a stop to their hopes of landing him.
The pair were together at Chelsea after Ake moved to West London aged 16 from Feyenoord.
However, he has spoken previously of his frustration at being demoted to the reserves under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
After loan spells at Reading, Watford and Bournemouth he eventually made the move to the South Coast permanent in 2017 for £20m.
He has started every Premier League match for the Cherries since.
